Classes

Comenius is like a green house in the midst of our culture; where children are becoming catalyst for the next generation. The seeds that are planted are going to produce a huge harvest for the future of your child.

We are creative educators providing an accelerated and adaptive path to learning.

  • Our preschool classes are for three year olds as they prepare for Prekindergarten. To enhance their preparation begins with their social and emotional development. We give special attention to their interaction with one another as well as their awareness of themselves. For this purpose, the class sizes are limited to 12 students per classroom. This is to maintain a space of intentionality as well as overall awareness of the students’ needs.

As for educational preparation, the curriculum has been selected to focus on colors, shapes, letters and numbers through the introduction of various integration of arts and crafts. As for one-on-one attention, our students spend time with their teacher practicing a variety of skills such as glueing, cutting, and cooperation. Along with this, we have selected a phonics program to be implemented throughout the year. This curriculum is to set them ahead for learning phonemic awareness.

Along with the education and sensory skills, our classes integrate the gifts of the Holy Spirit through worship, dance and art.

  • Our Pre-Kindergarten Class has a selection of curriculum which is tailored to meet the needs of each student. Throughout the year, students are tested for their needs along with their progress. This helps our staff plan on how to best teach each student. Our phonics program is selected for students with a variety of reading and phonemic awareness along with upper and lowercase letters. Each day, they complete exercises in small groups along with one-on-one instruction.

With math, individual learning styles are a key part of our culture. We have chosen a math which incorporates activities for auditory, visual and kinesthetic learners. As for other subjects, we have chosen social studies related to their immediate environment, beginning science concepts and STEM activities (Science Technology Engineering and Math).

Along with the education skills, emotional and spiritual growth are incorporated into their every day learning. Our students spend time in worship each morning along with Bible lessons from the Old and New Testament, teaching on spiritual giftings, keys to building their relationship with God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Students participate in weekly chapel where they spend time with other classes as well as teaching, worshiping and praying with others.

On a daily basis, our Pre K Class will have an enrichment time of either Art or Music Class, snack, recess and lunch.

  • Our Kindergarten through 5th grade classes have a selection of curriculum which is tailored to meet the needs of each student. Throughout the year, students are tested for their needs along with their progress. This helps our staff plan on how to best teach each student. Each day we learn skills in Math, Reading and Phonics, Compositional Writing, Science, and Social Studies. Special classes are also a part of the rich extensions available to all elementary scholars; Art, Music, and STEM classes. Being a private Christina school, we follow the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills for all school subjects for the base of our curriculum plan.
